REGENT has raised $240.0M in a Series B round, a sizable bet on a new category of coastal travel that aims to split the difference between flying and boating. The company builds Seaglider vessels, wing-in-ground-effect craft that skim just above the water’s surface, pairing airplane-like speeds with the convenience of docking at existing piers.
The round is backed by Mare Liberum and AE Ventures, with REGENT positioning its 12-passenger Viceroy model to cover routes up to 180 miles at 180 mph on current battery tech, and up to 400 miles once next-generation batteries arrive. The pitch is straightforward: zero-emission, high-speed regional transport that doesn’t require new infrastructure. The company’s backers also support SpaceX, Anduril, and Archer Aviation, though REGENT’s focus is decidedly more terrestrial-or maritime-than orbital.
