Harnessing the Earth's deep heat for terawatt-scale power, Quaise Energy has secured $134.0M in Series B funding. The round drew investment from Prelude Ventures, JERA Co., Inc., and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd., backing the company's ambitious geothermal energy plans.
Quaise Energy is developing superhot geothermal power plants, utilizing a unique millimeter wave drilling system to reach unprecedented temperatures and depths of 300-500 degrees Celsius and 3-20 kilometers. The company aims to build power generation close to major population centers and scale rapidly by integrating with the fossil fuel industry's established supply chain.
