OTEO Care has raised $1.4M in seed funding, a round backed by makesense seed II, 50 Partners Santé, BADGE Business Angels des Grandes Ecoles, Bpifrance, Crédit Agricole des Savoie, and CIC.
The French startup runs what it calls a "hospital hotel" model, helping healthcare facilities free up beds by moving certain patients into hotel rooms during recovery. The pitch is straightforward: a hospital bed can cost between €500 and €5,000, while a hotel bed runs around €80. That gap, the company argues, lets hospitals cut variable costs, reduce administrative strain on staff, and take on more procedures-while patients get shorter wait times and a better recovery environment. The round should give OTEO Care room to push that model further into the health system.
