Ornikar, a digital platform dedicated to easing young people’s access to mobility, has secured $120.0 million in its latest funding round. This substantial investment will support the company's strategic initiatives as it expands its comprehensive suite of services and reinforces its position in the European market.
Founded in 2013, Ornikar initially revolutionized driving education by offering an accessible and digitalized online driving school experience. It has since become a prominent player in France, serving over 2.5 million customers and maintaining a 98% satisfaction rate. The company's success in making driving education more affordable and frictionless laid the groundwork for its broader ambitions in the mobility sector.
The newly raised capital is earmarked to accelerate Ornikar's expansion into new mobility services, notably its recently launched car insurance business. This move aligns with the company's vision to become a leading partner for young people seeking autonomy and broader access to mobility solutions. The funds will also be directed towards further developing its digital platform and enhancing the customer experience across its offerings.
This funding round follows a significant 100 million euro raise in 2021, which saw Ornikar recognized with the French government's #next40 label for promising technology companies. With a growing team of 250 employees, Ornikar continues to build on its foundation as an online driving school to pursue its goal of becoming an indispensable emancipation partner for young people. The company aims to solidify its position as a comprehensive digital platform for mobility, driving further innovation and growth in the sector.
