OLIX has raised $312.0M in a Series B round, a bet that the next wave of AI needs a fundamentally different kind of hardware than the GPUs powering today’s models.
The company argues that as frontier models chew through vastly more tokens to solve complex problems, demand is outpacing what current infrastructure can handle-even for players with full-stack control over silicon and supply chains. OLIX’s pitch is that physical limits in memory, energy, and speed make GPU-based systems unable to deliver both high throughput and high interactivity at low cost. The round is backed by Fundomo, Arm, Hudson River Trading, Reed Hastings, and a sovereign AI fund, giving OLIX a mix of strategic and financial firepower as it builds out a new compute paradigm from offices in London, Austin, Toronto, and Bristol.
