Ocean, a Japanese company that helps retailers and tourism operators handle tax-free shopping for inbound visitors, has raised $3.2M in Series A funding.
The round drew backing from KURONEKO Innovation Fund, Shizuoka Capital, Z Venture Capital, Delight Ventures, Bluefin Partners, ONE-JAPAN Tourism Fund, and Dual Bridge Capital. Ocean provides tax-free systems, digitizes the exemption process, and helps merchants attract inbound customers - work it is positioning around Japan's planned shift to a refund-based tax-free model in November 2026.
