Berlin-based Nanolope has raised $800K in a pre-seed round backed by IBB Ventures and Branchenexpert:innen, a bet on materials that could quietly change how buildings manage heat.
The deep-tech startup develops high-density thermal energy storage materials that increase the thermal mass of rooms, cutting overheating and stabilizing temperatures without extra HVAC gear. Its recyclable, PCM-based products are aimed at construction, energy, and cooling markets, with early customers including real estate firms LEG, Metzger, and Nanz. Nanolope’s tech has already racked up awards like the Hugo Junkers Award and dena’s Energy Start Up Award 2026, giving the fresh capital a runway to push toward broader commercial deployment.
