LoopX has raised $4.0M in seed funding, a round backed by BDC, Orion Resource Partners, and Hatch. The Canadian startup is building what it calls "All-Condition Intelligence"-rugged AI perception and autonomy tech meant to keep machines operating reliably in environments where conventional systems fail, from dust-choked tunnels to extreme cold.
The company is starting with underground mining, where its sensor fusion platform combines LiDAR, thermal imaging, RGB vision, and edge AI to handle tasks like collision avoidance, localization, and autonomous operations. The pitch is straightforward: industrial equipment that can see and act in conditions that would blind most AI systems. With mining partners and OEMs already in the mix, the fresh capital should help push that technology further into the field.
