Germany’s SME tax and accounting sector is getting an agentic-first makeover, and Limetax has just secured $7.0M in pre-seed funding to accelerate its roll-up strategy. The round is backed by Motive Partners, Activant, and Heliad, alongside notable angel investors including Christian Lindner, Alexander Kudlich, Anton Rummel, and Ante Spittler.
Limetax isn’t building another software tool for accountants-it’s building a group that pairs its proprietary technology platform with forward-thinking tax and accounting firms across Germany. The model is straightforward: partner with firms that want to modernize, plug them into the platform, and scale. With this capital, the company is positioning itself to consolidate a fragmented market where many SMEs still rely on legacy processes. The backing from both institutional fintech investors and prominent German business figures signals confidence in the approach, though the company has yet to detail specific expansion targets.
