Kinoxis Therapeutics has raised $4.7M to push its pipeline of central nervous system drugs toward the clinic. The Australian biotech is developing treatments that target ALOX15, an enzyme it believes can be tapped to address agitation and aggression, chronic pain, and substance use disorders.
The round drew backing from Main Sequence, Uniseed, UniSuper, the University of Sydney, Stoic VC, and Avicella Capital. Kinoxis is clinical-stage, and its lead candidate, KNX100, is aimed at the kind of high-need CNS indications that have historically drawn limited drug development interest.
