iPremom has raised $16.8M in seed funding to push earlier detection of gestational diseases into routine prenatal care. The biotechnology company's flagship product, MaiRa, is a blood test that assesses preeclampsia risk starting at week 9 of pregnancy - earlier than the condition is typically caught.
The test is designed to support medical decision-making and give expectant parents peace of mind. The round is a seed, and the company did not disclose its investors.
