Hull Community and Voluntary Services (Hull CVS) has secured $91K in new funding, reinforcing its mission to support the voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) sector. Established in 1981, Hull CVS serves as a vital umbrella organization in Hull, dedicated to fostering the development of community groups and volunteering initiatives. The organisation provides a comprehensive suite of services, including volunteer recruitment and management, governance and constitutional advice, and direct business support functions such as accommodation, training, funding advice, payroll, and HR management, all designed to help charitable organisations start, grow, and develop.
Beyond its core support services, Hull CVS also directly implements various community empowerment projects. These include volunteering programmes, patient advocacy, direct payments support, and the administration of small grant programmes for local charitable trusts. This new capital injection is significant as it will enable Hull CVS to further its established work and adapt to the evolving needs of the sector, ensuring continued robust support for community initiatives.
The organisation's reach extends beyond Hull through its subsidiary, Meeting New Horizons (MNH), founded in 2011. MNH leverages Hull CVS's extensive experience to deliver community projects and VCSE sector support across the wider Yorkshire and Humber region. MNH has successfully secured and delivered major public sector contracts in areas such as welfare-to-work programmes and health and social care projects in Doncaster, North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire, and the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Hull CVS plans to strategically deploy the $91K investment to enhance its operational capabilities and expand its programmatic offerings. This funding will support the organisation's ongoing commitment to strengthening the VCSE sector and empowering local communities. The capital positions Hull CVS for continued growth, allowing it to broaden its impact and maintain its leadership role in supporting voluntary and community efforts throughout the region.
