With European regulations set to ban PFAS chemicals in the coming years, H&B Materials, an industrial startup developing high-performance, water-repellent solutions, has secured $2.4M in pre-seed funding. The capital comes from a syndicate including Anima, Alpha Star, Keenest, Bpifrance, and Caisse dâEpargne, backing the company's push for ecological transition in textiles and sustainable packaging.
H&B Materials' technology provides a drop-in, water-based, and industrially scalable approach to water repellency that is fully compliant with the upcoming 2026â2030 PFAS bans. This innovation targets critical markets like technical textiles, sportswear, luxury goods, and packaging, offering a bio-based and PFAS-free alternative.
