European law firms looking to cut down on hours of manual work might soon find a new ally in Gaius-Lex, which just closed a $502K seed funding round. The AI platform, which aims to automate complex legal tasks from reading case files to drafting documents, secured the capital to further its mission.
Gaius-Lex positions itself not as a chatbot or search engine, but as a tool that performs actual lawyer work, built specifically for European jurisdictions. Its Agent Gaius can find matching case law, verify citations, anonymise personal data, and review contracts, currently supporting firms in Poland and Czechia, with Germany and Austria next on the roadmap.
