Fortify, a Boston-based company aiming to revolutionize 3D printing with custom microstructures, has closed its Series b funding round, raising $20.0M. The startup's patented Digital Composite Manufacturing (DCM) platform combines magnetics and digital light processing to introduce aligned reinforcing fibers, enabling engineers to design and print composite parts with material properties optimized for specific functionality.
This technology promises faster lead times, lower costs, and superior materials compared to traditional manufacturing processes, with applications ranging from injection mold tooling to high-performance end-use parts.
