Australian industrial tech startup Facet Amtech has raised $2.1M in a seed round backed by Main Sequence and Uniseed, marking an early bet on a simpler route to clean ammonia production.
The company’s proprietary catalyst and process design skip conventional upstream steps like electrolysis and air separation, instead converting water and air directly into ammonia. That could cut infrastructure complexity and costs for a chemical critical to fertilisers, clean fuels, and hydrogen transport-though the technology is still in development, with scale-up planned through partner-led deployment.
