SurgExplore is an AI-powered surgical intelligence platform that transforms recorded surgery video and clinical data into surgeon-specific and patient-specific training, pre-operative planning, and automated post-operative reporting. We are a spin-off from the University of Bern's AIMI Lab and ARTORG Center, built on more than seven years of peer-reviewed research in surgical AI and the development of the largest annotated surgical datasets in the world. Across surgical specialties, healthcare systems struggle to scale reliable, high-quality care. Training is resource-intensive and depends on prolonged expert supervision. Planning follows protocols rather than patient data. Documentation is manual and often incomplete. Preventable complications go undetected until they become costly, billing is delayed by fragmented records, and follow-up is generic rather than tailored to the individual patient. The data needed to address this already exists in every operating room, largely unstructured and unused. SurgExplore turns that data into actionable clinical intelligence: optimizing surgical training, supporting risk-aware pre-operative planning, reducing preventable complications, personalizing patient follow-up, and streamlining documentation and billing in ways that lower hospital costs and improve patient outcomes. Our platform integrates with the surgical equipment hospitals already own, requiring no new capital investment or changes to existing workflows. We work with leading hospitals and surgical training centers across Switzerland, Europe, and internationally, with pilot deployments beginning in 2026. Our mission is to transform surgical video and clinical data into intelligence that accelerates training, sharpens pre-operative planning, and streamlines post-operative reporting, reducing costs, preventing complications, and improving patient outcomes across surgical care.
