EnerPure has secured $35.0M in new funding, a capital injection aimed at advancing its first commercial plant for recycling used motor oil into lower-carbon marine fuels. The Calgary-based clean-tech company, which originated in Manitoba, is targeting operations at the central Alberta facility for the first half of 2028.
The round backs a proprietary, modular technology that tackles a persistent environmental problem: used motor oil, which in large volumes can contaminate soil and water or produce harmful emissions when burned improperly. EnerPure’s pitch is straightforward - turn that waste stream into a higher-value fuel for the marine market, a sector under growing pressure to cut its carbon intensity.
