Harnessing river flow without the need for massive dam walls, Energyminer GmbH has reeled in $2.3M through a recent crowdfunding round. The German startup is developing a scalable micro hydroelectric power production device called the Energyfish, designed to be suspended in rivers to generate base load-capable renewable energy.
This patent-pending technology aims to revolutionize hydropower by efficiently converting water flow into electricity while safeguarding local flora and fauna. Energyminer has ambitious plans, including deploying enough Energyfish units within five years to replace a significant coal-fired power plant in Germany.
