The market for employee meal vouchers just got a green injection. Ekip, a French startup offering an ecological and solidarity-focused alternative, has closed a $4.5M Series A funding round to expand its unique model.
Unlike traditional players, Ekip financially rewards employees who choose to dine at partner businesses committed to sustainability, such as Biocoop and Café Joyeux. The company also ensures that the capital from its vouchers is invested directly into the Social and Solidarity Economy, rather than conventional financial markets, and donates 1% of lunch payments to associations promoting regenerative agriculture.
