Ed.ai has raised $5.8M in seed funding to bring its AI teaching assistant to more middle and high school math classrooms.
The company's tool grades handwritten and typed assessments, follows student reasoning step by step, and awards partial credit - work it says can cut grading time for a full class set by up to 5x, with 95% accuracy on handwritten math. It also maps each question to relevant standards and builds skill maps for students, classes, and schools, then generates targeted practice from specific errors. The round drew AFI Ventures, CentraleSupélec Venture, Ring Capital, SUPER CAPITAL, EDHEC Business School, Bpifrance Digital Venture, La Poste Ventures, XAnge, and 50 Partners. Founded in 2024, Ed.ai says its U.S. presence now spans 10 states through customers and pilot programs, including the University of Maryland–College Park, Marshall ISD in Texas, Harker in California, and Franklin Academy in North Carolina.
