Charm Industrial Secures $100M in Series B Funding to Advance Carbon Removal Technology

Charm Industrial, a pioneering leader in carbon removal technology, has successfully raised $100 million in its latest funding round, furthering its mission to restore atmospheric CO₂ levels to a pre-industrial benchmark of 280 ppm.

Founded on breakthrough innovations by Chief Scientist and co-founder Shaun Meehan in 2020, the company has developed a fleet of mobile pyrolyzers designed to convert agricultural and forestry biomass residues into bio-oil.

This bio-oil serves a dual purpose: it contributes to carbon removal initiatives and is also utilized in direct-reduced-iron steelmaking, promoting a more sustainable industrial process.

Since its inception, Charm Industrial has made remarkable strides in the realm of carbon neutrality.

Within just ten months of its first carbon removal injection, the company successfully removed more than 5,000 tons of CO₂e in 2021 for a variety of notable clients, including prominent corporations like Stripe, Shopify, and Microsoft.

The newly acquired funding will enable Charm Industrial to accelerate its innovative projects, scale the deployment of its mobile pyrolyzers, and expand its operations significantly.
