Celsio has raised $1.2M in a pre-seed round, a bet on the idea that industrial heat-one of the dirtiest corners of the energy grid-can be made both cheaper and greener with a bit of algorithmic trading.
The startup’s pitch is straightforward: it runs AI-based software that lets heat generation systems buy and sell electricity flexibility on volatile power markets. By timing when those systems draw power, Celsio says it can cut operating costs while trimming emissions. The fresh capital will help the company push that model further, though specifics on who wrote the checks or what comes next weren’t disclosed.
