BrainFocus, a Barcelona medtech startup spun out of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, has raised $168K in pre-seed funding.
The company builds computational tools for epileptologists, with a focus on intracranial EEG. Its first product, BrainFocus iEEG, is cloud-based software that uses quantitative and visualization tools to surface seizure patterns that can escape the human eye, aiming to cut the errors that come with visual inspection and sharpen diagnostic accuracy. BrainFocus was founded in February 2023 by Adrià Tauste Campo, Manel Vila-Vidal and Bart Huisken, drawing on more than 15 years of research at its lab.
