Background checks were built for a world where a single snapshot of someone’s past was enough. Yardstik is arguing that era is over-and investors are backing that bet with a $30.0M Series B.
The round, led by Harbert Growth Partners with participation from Rally Ventures, MissionOG, Crosslink Capital, Grotech Ventures, and Great North Ventures, funds Yardstik’s push beyond traditional screening. The company’s Human Trust Platform layers fraud detection, identity verification, and continuous credential monitoring on top of background checks, aiming to catch fake identities and shifting risk after the hire-not just at the offer letter. With thousands of customers in gig work, staffing, transportation, and healthcare, Yardstik is betting that trust, in an age of AI-driven deception, has to be proven daily, not assumed once.
