St. Louis-based Wugen, a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing next-generation CAR-T cell therapies for cancer, has closed a $35.0M Series C funding round. Fidelity Wealth Management and Banc of California participated in the investment.
Wugen's proprietary gene-editing platform is designed to create scalable, off-the-shelf treatments, addressing key limitations of earlier cell therapies. Its lead program, WU‑CART-007, targets CD7 and has demonstrated best-in-class efficacy in T-ALL/T-LBL, potentially becoming the first approved allogeneic CAR-T therapy for T-cell malignancies.
