Windar Photonics A/S has raised $7.0M in a new funding round, the company confirmed. The Danish wind-energy technology firm, which specializes in LiDAR-assisted solutions for optimizing and monitoring wind turbines, will use the capital to advance its commercial push across key markets.
Founded in 2008 as a spin-off from the Danish Technical University, Windar Photonics listed on London’s AIM exchange in 2015. Its flagship products-the WindEYE sensor and Nexus OS platform-help asset owners boost annual energy production by 2-4% while cutting loads at high wind speeds. The company also offers a monitoring module that tracks turbine performance with ±0.5% accuracy, a niche that sets it apart in a crowded renewables-tech space. With offices in Denmark, China, and sales support across North America and Europe, the fresh capital arrives as wind-fleet operators increasingly seek data-driven efficiency gains.
