Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) / #ChooseWOMEN has secured $12,000 in investment capital.

The all-volunteer 501c3 grassroots movement supports women in business globally, with its officially proclaimed day celebrated annually on November 19.

WEDO aims to ignite women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities worldwide.

Operating in 144 countries and 65 universities/colleges internationally, WEDO's mission is to empower the 4 billion women worldwide to be catalysts for change and uplift over 250 million girls living in poverty.

The organization believes that financially elevating women leads to prosperity for families, communities, states, and countries, creating a global blueprint to alleviate and eradicate poverty.

Its #ChooseWOMEN campaign, launched in partnership with Bartle Bogle Hegarty, encourages support for women in business, particularly on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.

This funding round marks a significant step for WEDO, providing essential capital to further its global initiatives.

The organization plans to strategically deploy the $12,000 to enhance its outreach efforts, expand its network of supporters, and strengthen its programs designed to empower women entrepreneurs.

The capital will support the continued growth of its movement and the impact of its annual celebration.

Founder Wendy Diamond was inspired to launch WEDO in 2013 after observing the disparity where women perform 66% of the world’s work but earn only 10% of the world’s income, despite controlling a significant portion of consumer purchases.

This funding will help advance WEDO's simplified movement to empower women in business and alleviate poverty.
