Farmers could soon get a jump on crop disease and stress, thanks to Viridys Bio, which just closed a $673K pre-seed round. The startup is developing microbial biosensors that detect subtle biological signals, providing early warnings long before visible symptoms appear.
The investment, backed by Carbon13, SFC Capital, and Innovate UK, will support Viridys Bio's mission to enable more precise and prompt interventions. By translating these signals into actionable insights, the company aims to reduce reliance on chemical inputs, minimize losses, and foster more sustainable and resilient agricultural practices.
