Vasowatch Inc has raised $250K in seed funding to bring its labor and delivery technology to more hospitals.
The company's monitoring system uses streaming maternal heart rate data to detect when the uterine muscle is exhausting itself during labor - the leading cause of hemorrhage. That early warning gives clinicians a chance to intervene before a bleed becomes dangerous. Vasowatch says its approach can avert 60% of hemorrhage incidents and save $1B in obstetrics costs annually.
