The ambitious vision of a power grid in space just got a significant boost. Star Catcher, a startup building the first such network, has closed a $65.0M Series A funding round.
The capital, led by B Capital, will advance Star Catcher's technology to wirelessly transmit concentrated solar energy via optical power beaming directly to satellites' existing solar arrays. This approach promises to end power scarcity in orbit by enabling up to 10x more power generation without requiring retrofits, a key step toward enabling the space industrial revolution.
