Sorry Sugar has raised $1.0M in seed funding, with backing from the Dhanuka family and Amishi London. The young beverage brand is betting that the guilt-not the caffeine-is what’s been driving people away from their daily coffee habit.
The company sells café-style drinks sweetened with monk fruit, a natural sweetener that’s been used for centuries but has found fresh appeal among consumers wary of artificial alternatives and hidden sugar. Its pitch is straightforward: zero added sugar, zero artificial sweeteners, and none of the mid-afternoon crash that often comes with a standard cup. Sorry Sugar currently runs kiosks inside corporate offices and college campuses across India, and also sells premix pods and café-style beverages online for home brewing. The fresh capital arrives as the startup looks to scale a model that positions itself as an apology-free alternative in a crowded beverage market.
