Smallest.ai has raised $13.0M in a Series A round, a bet that smaller, faster AI models can win in the voice and multimodal market without the massive compute bills of frontier labs. The funding was led by SELIGMAN VENTURES LIMITED, with participation from SIERRA Ventures and 3one4 Capital.
The startup builds compact speech-to-text, text-to-speech, speech-to-speech, and small language models designed for low-latency voice applications across more than 100 industries. Its pitch to enterprises leans on compliance-SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI certifications-plus support for on-prem and private cloud deployments, positioning it for regulated sectors that can't rely on public APIs.
