Skyrora Raises $76,891,360 for UK Launch Vehicle Development

Skyrora, a UK launch vehicle provider, has secured $76,891,360 in new investment.

The company aims to provide flexible sovereign launch capabilities to the UK through the development of an orbital vehicle and carefully selected supply chain innovations that are intended to reinforce the industry for years to come.

Skyrora's strategy involves an incremental, step-by-step approach to launch, allowing for critical testing and de-risking.

This includes developing four suborbital rockets – from Skylark Nano to Skylark-L – to perform real-time testing of avionics, ground control systems, and payload deployment.

Most recently, Skyrora attempted to launch Skylark L in October 2022 from Iceland.

Its orbital vehicle, Skyrora XL, consists of three stages with a re-ignitable third stage, capable of carrying 315kg of weight up to 500km high.

This funding round represents a significant milestone for Skyrora, underscoring investor confidence in its technical roadmap and business model.

The capital will be deployed to accelerate the development of its orbital launch capabilities, specifically focusing on the continued progress of the Skyrora XL vehicle and further enhancing its innovative supply chain.
