Skillmaker.AI, a startup aiming to transform corporate learning and development, has closed a $4.5M seed funding round. The company is building an AI-as-a-Service platform that combines frontier Large Language Models, open-source generative models, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Extended Reality (XR) to create engaging training experiences.
The capital infusion saw participation from a diverse group of investors including Potencia Ventures, FullCircle, NC State's Wolfpack Investor Network, Workshop Venture Partners, Idea Fund Partners, and Cape Fear Ventures. Individual investors Lelon Winstead and Richard Stroupe also contributed to the round, which will support Skillmaker.AI's efforts to deliver immersive training through XR headsets, smart glasses, mobile devices, and computers.
