After more than a decade of research and development, Silicon Microgravity Ltd, a company building advanced MEMS technology for inertial navigation and gravity sensing, has raised $7.7M. The Cambridge, England-based firm develops high-accuracy accelerometers, gyroscopes, and gravimeters that promise smaller, more robust, and lower-cost solutions compared to existing sensors.
Its resonant MEMS technology originated at Cambridge University's Nanoscience Department before being carried forward by SMG's team of scientists and engineers, now based in Waterbeach. The company focuses on applications for both inertial navigation and gravity surveys.
