SiFly has raised $20.0M in a Series A round, a bet that the future of rotorcraft isn't a drone at all. The company is building what it calls a new era of flight-all-electric aircraft with 4x the endurance and 10x the range of conventional systems, capable of more than two hours of hover and 90 miles of forward flight.
The round is backed by Shield Capital, Qudit, BBK Capital, and Alumni Ventures. SiFly's pitch is that aerial systems have been stuck with incremental improvements, and it's aiming to unlock capabilities for industries that need more than what current rotorcraft can deliver. The funding arrives as the company pushes its cloud-connected, AI-driven platform beyond the limits of existing designs.
