Shape Memory Medical has pulled in $10.0M from August Global Partners and Taiwania Capital, a fresh infusion for the developer of embolization devices built around a novel shape memory polymer technology.
The company鈥檚 flagship product is the first FDA-cleared device using that smart polymer in a vascular market, targeting peripheral, cardiovascular, and neurovascular procedures. With the new capital, it鈥檚 looking to expand into an aortic portfolio, aiming to tackle sealing and healing challenges in that space. The round鈥檚 backers bring a mix of global and Taiwan-based investment heft, though the company hasn鈥檛 detailed how the funds will be deployed beyond that forward-looking pipeline work.
