Serwas has raised $349K in a pre-seed round backed by Gateway Ventures, Pioneers Club, and MCI Innsbruck. The Austrian startup is tackling a simple but stubborn problem: the heat that servers generate usually just dissipates into the air, wasted.
Serwas builds systems that capture that waste heat from servers and redirects it to warm buildings, starting with mining servers as the first scalable use case. The idea is to turn digital infrastructure into a local, emissions-free heating source-one that gets more relevant as demand for computing power, and the heat it produces, keeps climbing. The founders aim to eventually extend the tech beyond mining rigs to GPU and AI servers, though the round’s specific next steps weren’t detailed.
