Revolutionizing Textile Waste Management: Rester Oy's Funding Announcement for a Circular Economy Facility in Paimio

Rester Oy, a pioneering Finnish recycling company renowned for its innovative approaches to industrial-scale recycling solutions, has successfully raised funds for its groundbreaking circular economy facility in Paimio.

Although the exact amount raised has not been disclosed, this funding is crucial for advancing Rester's mission to revolutionize textile waste management in Finland and the broader Nordic region.

Each year, approximately 350 million kg of textile waste is generated in the Nordic countries, with Finland accounting for around 100 million kg—of which a staggering 80% is incinerated.

With the impending EU directive and Finland’s new Waste Act slated for 2025, municipalities will be required to establish systems for collecting used textiles, greatly enhancing the quality of secondary raw materials.

Rester's state-of-the-art facility will enable businesses to dispose of their end-of-life textiles sustainably, ultimately converting them into new raw materials with an impressive annual processing capacity of 6,000 tonnes.
