Revolutionizing Finance for Regeneration: The BioFi Project Secures $42K Grant to Empower Bioregions

We are thrilled to announce that The BioFi Project has successfully raised $42,000 to further our mission of fostering bioregional economies that empower communities and regenerate the planet.

The BioFi Project is dedicated to designing, building, and implementing Bioregional Financing Facilities (BFFs) that serve as a bridge between vital financial resources and the local regenerator movements.

Our unique approach involves partnering with bioregional organizing teams and Indigenous communities worldwide, leveraging the methodologies and insights from the groundbreaking book ‘Bioregional Financing Facilities: Reimagining Finance to Regenerate Our Planet’ by Samantha Power and Leon Seefeld.

This funding will enable us to expand our collaborative efforts, focusing on conducting in-depth listening processes, asset mapping, and the tailored design of BFFs that best suit each bioregional context.

Our dedicated team — composed of experts in economics, finance, governance, ecology, and social justice — is poised to work directly with these communities, emphasizing capital raising, allocation, and governance implementation within their unique frameworks.

Additionally, we aim to enhance our global outreach by sharing the concepts of bioregional financing, stewarding a community of practice, and developing software tools that support eco-credit co-design facilitation.
