Proxy Foods AI has raised $6.0M in seed funding, a bet that artificial intelligence can speed up the slow, trial-and-error grind of food and beverage product development. The round is backed by Ted Leonsis, Robert G. Hisaoka, and SWaN & Legend Venture Partners.
The company’s platform uses AI agents and data-driven insights to help R&D teams formulate, reformulate, and optimize recipes-moving from concept to prototype in minutes rather than weeks. It’s aimed at food makers looking to cut sodium or sugar, clean up labels, or improve taste and texture without sacrificing margins. The fresh capital arrives as consumer brands face mounting pressure to innovate faster, and Proxy is positioning itself as the software layer for that work.
