ProFound Therapeutics has raised $35.0M in a Series A round, a bet on the idea that the human proteome is far bigger-and more druggable-than previously thought. The company, founded in 2020 at Flagship Labs, is built around its ProFoundry Platform, which uses advanced protein detection to systematically identify and validate novel proteins, mapping their roles in health and disease.
That work has already produced a database of tens of thousands of previously unknown proteins, and the new capital will help push those discoveries toward therapeutic candidates. The round underscores a growing conviction that the "dark proteome" holds untapped medicinal potential-and that systematic discovery, not just hypothesis-driven research, can unlock it.
