Peripear Ltd, a health technology company focused on maternal care, has announced it has secured $1.3 million in new investment.

This funding round will support the company's mission to improve birth outcomes by addressing perineal injuries during vaginal delivery.

Peripear is developing wearable technology designed to prevent perineal injuries, ease pain, and enhance safety during childbirth.

The company highlights that approximately 90% of women birthing vaginally experience perineal injuries, a condition that is both painful for individuals and incurs significant healthcare costs.

Peripear aims to mitigate this widespread issue with its innovative solution.

The company has already developed functional and physical prototypes and has secured pilot programs in Israel and with the NHS, with additional pilots in the US currently under negotiation.

The newly raised capital is earmarked to accelerate the development of Peripear's wearable technology. It will also be used to expand its ongoing pilot programs and prepare for broader market entry.

This investment is critical for advancing the company's product from its current prototype stage towards commercialization, enabling Peripear to scale its operations and reach more birthing individuals.

The company is led by co-founders Eviatar and Nina.

Eviatar brings over a decade of experience in scaling healthtech startups, having raised substantial capital and led MedTech companies from concept to market.

Nina contributes 12 years of experience as a midwife in both NHS and private practices, providing direct clinical insight into the challenges Peripear aims to solve.

Looking ahead, Peripear plans to leverage this investment to further its growth initiatives, aiming to make a substantial impact on maternal health by making birth safer and smoother for a greater number of women globally.
