The burgeoning market for income verification in Latin America just got a boost, as Palenca, the region's first Income Bureau, announced a $4.0M Seed funding round. The capital infusion was backed by investors including Experian, Foundation Capital, Gilgamesh Ventures, and Dhow Ventures.

Palenca's platform makes it easy for consumers to share employment information with financial institutions through an API, establishing itself as the first Income Bureau in LatAm.

Mexican startup Palenca has raised $4 million in a funding round led by Experian Foundation Capital, Gilgamesh Ventures and Dhow Ventures also participated in the round. The company said it will use the new capital to expand its income verification products and further develop its AI-driven predictive models.

Palenca helps financial institutions verify income data, including non-traditional income sources, to improve lending decisions and expand access to credit in Mexico. The startup processed nearly 5 million income verifications in 2025 and expects that figure to reach 20 million this year as demand for alternative financial data continues to grow.
