Optimo Capital Closes $12.0M

Optimo Capital has raised $12.0 million in a recent funding round, securing investment capital from investors to advance its mission of digitizing Loan Against Property (LAP) services in India.

The company is developing India's first digital LAP product, specifically designed to address the significant delays and inefficiencies prevalent in traditional LAP disbursements for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Indian MSMEs are vital contributors to the nation's economy, yet often face challenges in accessing timely capital.

While LAP offers lower interest rates and higher loan amounts compared to other business loans, the existing old-fashioned methods lead to an average disbursement time of 18 days.

Optimo Capital aims to revolutionize this process by leveraging technology to analyze millions of circle-rate, mortgage, and land records, enabling in-principle sanction letters within 2 hours and full disbursement in just 48 hours.

This capital infusion will be strategically deployed to enhance Optimo Capital's technology platform and significantly expand its operational footprint.

The company plans to scale its omni-channel presence, which includes both digital sourcing and the establishment of physical branches in rural India for sourcing and collections.

Optimo currently operates 17 branches across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, with plans to increase this to 50 branches by March 2025.

The funding underscores the significant market potential for small-ticket LAP, which is estimated at USD 270 billion, far exceeding its current market size of USD 22 billion.

By streamlining access to capital, Optimo Capital is poised to empower a critical segment of the Indian economy.
