Octin Health, Inc has raised $2.5M in seed funding to make aortic arch operations safer for patients and simpler for surgeons.
The company is developing the Elika device, which it describes as the only tool designed specifically to improve outcomes in aortic arch operations - the highest-risk cardiac surgery interventions, where national data still shows high mortality and morbidity rates. The device aims to make the technical aspects of these operations more efficient and cut operating times, reducing costs for hospitals in the process. It was designed by practicing surgeons.
