Newcode.ai has raised $13.5M in a Series A round, a bet that the legal industry’s appetite for AI extends beyond flashy chatbots and into the messy, high-stakes work of document review and institutional knowledge. The funding was led by Rel Labs, with participation from OnDean Forward, Antiportfolio Ventures, and TLTF.
The company builds what it calls a "configurable AI harness" for law firms, government agencies, and other regulated sectors-essentially a secure layer that lets organizations deploy AI workflows, enterprise search, and document intelligence directly inside their own environments. That’s a pointed contrast to cloud-only tools, and it speaks to the compliance and confidentiality pressures that define legal work. The fresh capital gives Newcode runway to push deeper into a market where the pitch is less about novelty and more about control.
