Singapore’s N&E Innovations has locked in $1.7M in Series A funding, a round backed by Tundra Capital, SGInnovate, The Radical Fund, Archipelago VC, and SG7 Group.
The biotech firm’s pitch centers on ViKANG, a patented antimicrobial additive it says is non-toxic, Green Label Certified, and free of heavy metals. The technology can be applied as a coating or embedded into materials, with its food packaging plastics engineered to kill 99.9% of bacteria-a claim aimed at reducing food poisoning risks and extending produce shelf life, which the company argues also cuts CO2 emissions tied to spoilage. The fresh capital arrives as N&E pushes into food, medical, hygiene, and plastics markets, though specifics on deployment were not disclosed.
