Menopause is associated with cognitive dysfunction, increased mood and anxiety disorders, and an elevated risk of Alzheimer’s disease, yet standard estrogen therapies are associated with increased risks of cancer, heart disease, and stroke. Our mission is to develop novel drugs that mitigate the adverse effects of menopause on mental health and enable women to live healthier and happier lives. The drug development program at Estrigenix focuses on selectively activating specific estrogen receptor proteins that promote memory formation, improve mood, and reduce anxiety. We believe that targeting these receptors will provide the cognitive and mood-enhancing benefits of estrogens without the harmful side effects of standard estrogen therapies.
